Disney’s Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom

Disney’s Cinderella Castle was inspired by Neuschwanstein Castle in the Bavarian Alps (southern Germany). When we were inside the castle at the Magic Kingdom, I of course, had to explain this factoid to my family.

The pictures of my Amsterdam/Germany trip can be found on Flickr here. I’m hoping to get back to Munich next year [...]

The Zip Line at Blizzard Beach

Have I mentioned that Lukas has no fear? The boys spent most of the day in the Ski Patrol Training Camp area. This part of the park is for kids that are older than toddler age. There were age-appropriate water slides, a fun ice berg rope walk and a zip line plunge.

Lukas was having fun [...]

Blizzard Beach

Our “Water Park Fun & More Option” tickets included access to the water parks. Disney has two water parks in Orlando: Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Each park has a different theme.

On day three of our Disney vacation we went to Blizzard Beach for a half-day. Blizzard Beach has a fun ski theme. The most [...]

Kaleb and Red Power Ranger

The Power Rangers made an appearance at Disney Hollywood Studios. This was Kaleb’s favorite character sighting. He wanted to get a picture with Red Ranger, so we waited in line. I noticed that most characters take their time with the kids. They aren’t rushing to get through the line of kids. The Power Rangers actually [...]

Myles Walks

The day has finally come. Our youngest has his walking legs and our house will never be the same. While the rest of us spent a week at various Disney parks, Mike and Sherry watched Myles. They worked with him on his walking and it paid off. Here are his first steps that Sherry caught [...]

Jedi Mickey Replaced

Melody bought Kaleb a new Jedi Mickey (or is it Obi Wan Mickey??). Either way, he has a new one. Someone stole his at the Nemo show. He had it before the bubbles came down and he placed it on the bench to catch some bubbles. He must have put it too far back on [...]

Luke Dancing with Woody

As promised, here’s a video from Day One where Lukas danced with Woody during the Pixar Parade. He’s definitely not the shy sibling!

Disney Animal Kingdom

We spent Day Two at Animal Kingdom. Actually, we started the day with a character breakfast at Chef Mickey’s. The restaurant was in the Contemporary Resort on the Magic Kingdom property. The monorail goes right through the hotel.

Melody, of course, spouted off some interesting facts about how Walt Disney commissioned this guy out of Germany [...]

Fantasmic

Our last activity of Disney Day One was the Fantasmic show. Kaleb and I saw the show with Dale, Colby and Carter. Lukas needed to catch some Zzzzs. It was Kaleb’s favorite activity of the whole day. I’ll have to admit that it was pretty kewl. But we had to get there 90 minutes early [...]

Disney is Fun and Addictive

This is my last post of the night. If you want to see more Disney vacation pictures, feel free to browse all of them on Flickr.

I have to admit that I’m a Disney skeptic. It’s expensive. It’s over-the-top. It’s “consumption” society at it’s finest.

…I sound like my Dad…

But, my kids love it. And it’s worth [...]
