Our “fair and balanced” Media
This isn’t family related, but I thought it was important. One of my best friends, Michael Lubrano, is in Iraq as a contractor. His brother-in-law (also one of my best friends), Jason Shaffer, is out there as well. The two of them work tirelessly, in extremely dangerous conditions each day, to rebuild a country that’s been decimated by its own leaders for decades. Michael has always told me that our media doesn’t “get it”. They don’t report the real story in Iraq.
What happened at Abu Ghraib was inexcusable. But our media chooses to parade those images in front of the American people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Yet, they conveniently forget to tell the stories about our heroes that are sacrificing their lives so that we can have the right to free speech. It is ironic, to say the least.
Here is an article that I hope all of you will read. You won’t find this on the 6:00pm news.
